I did this piece as a project where we had to make a picture out of different materials. For this I cut a bunch of different color paint samples into random shapes to create a gradient/ombre sky. For the sun, I cut out a magazine picture of a sunset into the shape of the sun. For the black building/skyline I cut out one long strip of black paper and glued it on.
